God-Shaped Hole

                      Fill The Gap 

'There's a godshaped hole in all of us and the restless soul is searching; There's a godshaped soul in all of us and it's a void only he can fill.'

In the film Bruce Almightly, there is a TV reporter called Bruce Nolan, who finds out what it is like to have God's power for a week. It was striking to see how a little bit of power can be a dangerous thing in the wrong hands!

Towards the end of the week, he realises he has a responsibility for making good decisions and thinking about others rather than just himself.

As a result of this experience, he goes on to become a better kind of person when he goes back to living without God's powers.

 An experience of God can change your life!

Mankind has a deep need to know God because we have been created in God's own image.

There is something missing in all of us....a godshaped hole...because God has put a desire in all of us to know Him. The bible says that God has put eternity in the hearts of all men and women.

There is something in us that just wants and knows that there is more to life!

Sinead O Connor said 'As a race we feel empty. This is because our spirituality has been wiped out and we don't know how to express ourselves. As a result we're encouraged to fill that gap with alcohol, sex and money.'

Can these things truly satisfy you?

The honest answer is that these things CAN'T fully satisfy you because they are trying to fill a void that ONLY God can fill.

Jesus can fill the gap in your life! Just come as you are to him and ask him to do his work in your life. Jesus never turns anyone away because he loves all people.

The good news is that Jesus is still in the business of healing broken hearts, making sick bodies well and bringing peace to troubled minds!
